There are bad anniversaries. There are really bad anniversaries. And then there is Aarohi’s fifth wedding anniversary, where her husband dies, gets buried in the garden and somehow turns up the next morning looking perfectly alive.
Yes, that is the problem.
Aarohi, played by Prachi Tehlan, was once happily married to Karan, played by Ankit Mohan. Five years ago, Karan was her college sweetheart: warm, caring and the man she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. But marriage has not been kind to their relationship. The man Aarohi loved has become abusive, their home turned miserable, and Karan is now having an affair with Sonal, his assistant, played by Sherish Ali.
Sonal is not exactly a harmless third wheel, either. She has become deeply involved in Karan’s life and has her own ambitions when it comes to the Oberoi family and its business. Between her affair with Karan and her growing influence within the company, she has plenty of reasons to want Aarohi out of the picture.
But Aarohi’s biggest reason for hating Karan has nothing to do with Sonal. It is their daughter, Riya. Karan had left Riya alone in a car while he was with Sonal, and the little girl died. For Aarohi, that loss changed everything. Whatever love she once had for Karan is buried alongside her daughter.
So, when their fifth anniversary arrives, Aarohi has no interest in celebrating. She wants a divorce. Karan, of course, refuses. The argument turns ugly, Aarohi finally fights back, and Karan falls onto a broken wine bottle. Suddenly, the man she has spent five years trying to escape is dead. Aarohi panics. She buries him in the garden and tries to come to terms with what has happened.
Then morning arrives. And so does Karan. He walks into the house with flowers and a gift, looking completely alive. But that is not even the strangest part. This Karan is different. He is affectionate with Aarohi. He protects her. He speaks to her with the tenderness of the college boyfriend she remembers. And when Sonal tries to get close to him, he pushes her away and stands firmly by his wife.Aarohi is left wondering whether she has somehow woken up in the wrong universe. Naturally, she starts looking for proof that something is wrong. And the more she looks, the stranger everything becomes. Things she remembers breaking are suddenly intact. Evidence she knows she had is gone. The body she buried is nowhere to be found.
Then Sonal starts asking questions too. She knows Karan well enough to recognise that something has changed. The man she once controlled is suddenly rejecting her, defending Aarohi and behaving like he has never been involved with Sonal at all. She refuses to let it go, especially when she notices evidence that suggests something happened on the night Karan supposedly died. And while all of this is unfolding, the Oberoi Group becomes another battlefield. Aarohi’s position, Karan’s shares and Sonal’s ambitions collide, forcing Aarohi to fight on more than one front.
But just when she thinks she might finally understand what is happening, the police arrive with news that turns the entire situation upside down. They have found Karan’s dead body. Now Aarohi has a very simple problem with a very impossible solution.
If the real Karan is dead, who is the man standing in front of her? And why does he know so much about her?
