The Westward Anime Season 1
The Westward Anime Season 1
A mythic war unfolds around a sacred scripture that is repeatedly shown as more than an object, with its power tied to chosen people and dangerous spiritual forces. The conflict begins with sky and divine armies demanding the return of the stolen Lotus Fire scriptures and attacking the Dragon Palace. Yuhi, also called Juhee or Yuki in the broader conflict, becomes the center of the struggle because she is revealed to be the human form of the long-lost Soothra Grandham. That revelation makes her both a protected figure and a target for enemies who want the scripture’s power. The Dragon King, his allies, and hostile forces clash across palaces, villages, and human settlements, leaving destruction in their wake. Tarzan is drawn into the war as a protector and is told that he must rescue Yuhi and seek guidance in the west and in Magadha. His path is shaped by mentors who pass on burdens and powers, including Sho, who transfers a dragon spirit into Tarzan before dying and leaving him a final mission. Tarzan’s journey becomes a test of endurance as he moves through dangerous frontiers and supernatural traps while trying to keep the mission alive. Carson, a memoryless beast-like young man, adds another layer of tension by insisting on becoming human and marrying Yuhi while still fighting to protect her. Aditya and Adithya Vedha are also pulled into the larger struggle, each facing spiritual conflict, hidden dragon-linked power, or the burden of past failure. In one thread, Tarson and his Master travel the deadly Devil’s Path, only to be separated by a demon trap that forces Tarson into a desperate fight alone. The story repeatedly emphasizes discipline, ritual, and old scripture as tools against chaos, but also shows how fragile those protections are. A mentor returns after long isolation to defend the innocent and explain the tragic human past of cursed beings, widening the moral stakes beyond simple good and evil. Elsewhere, Aditya confronts a black-souled spirit tied to revenge and family tragedy, while sacred rites are used to restrain the darkness and debate punishment versus release. Across these battles, allies are injured, rivals accuse one another of betrayal, and divine and demonic forces collide without a clean resolution. By the end of the batch, rescue missions, curses, revenge, and the struggle over the sacred scripture are all still in motion, with the fate of Yuhi and the wider war left unresolved.
