The microdrama begins with Hazel initiating a divorce from Peter, believing he loves Alice, despite her own hidden heartbreak from their contract marriage. Peter indifferently accepts, while Alice returns and moves into their home, championed by Peter's manipulative sister, leading to Hazel enduring emotional and physical abuse. Despite desperate attempts to win Peter's affection, even risking her life, his cruel indifference pushes Hazel to vanish after a child's injury, leaving Peter frantic and confused. He receives divorce papers, initially vowing revenge, but his anger shifts to desperate concern as he searches for her, uncovering a mysterious file and facing a car crash. Peter then grapples with the revelation that his five-year marriage to Hazel was a manipulative contract orchestrated by his mother, Maa, who also pushed him towards Alice. Hazel, now a successful painter, asserts her independence, while Alice's dangerous ex-husband, Ruki, reappears, and Siddharth declares himself Hazel's new boyfriend. Hazel confronts Peter, revealing their marriage was a 'gratitude agreement' orchestrated by the Patriarch, and finds solace in a new relationship with Travis. Peter's family attempts to draw Hazel back, leading to public confrontations and corporate repercussions, with the Patriarch eventually punishing Peter's sister and brother for their actions against Hazel. Hazel seeks to sever all ties, repaying a final debt, but Peter desperately attempts to define love with her, only for their discussion to be violently interrupted by a sudden crash. Following a severe accident, Peter, now a powerful magnate, faces the chilling detachment of his former partner, Eva, while Alice endures a brutal betrayal and miscarriage. Peter challenges Hazel to win a coveted land plot, leading to a marriage proposal fraught with caveats about his love. Concurrently, Sara prepares for her wedding to Travis, but rejects his chillingly conditional proposal, while Hazel confronts a former lover burdened by regret, forcing her to choose between a second chance and a definitive goodbye, leaving her future uncertain.
