Not the Bride
Not the Bride
Ishita's world is shattered when her fiancé, Jay, abruptly announces his engagement to Saanvi, claiming a "humanitarian" obligation to Saanvi's dying mother, despite promising Ishita a future marriage. Saanvi, however, manipulates Jay using her mother's fragile health to secure their union, while Jay attempts to keep Ishita as a secondary option, which she fiercely rejects. Tensions escalate with a fire at Jay and Saanvi's engagement, leading to accusations against Ishita. As Jay continues his manipulative attempts to maintain affairs, Saanvi and her mother conspire to destroy Ishita, leading to Jay giving Ishita's cherished bridal items to Saanvi. This escalating conflict culminates in a brutal attack on Jay's mother, for which Ishita is fiercely accused of theft and attempted murder, further entangling her in a web of deceit. Amidst this turmoil, Ishita seeks to move on, finding new love with Veer, who proposes marriage. However, Jay relentlessly interferes, asserting control and refusing to let her go. Ishita, heartbroken and seeking revenge, plans to disrupt Jay and Saanvi's wedding. The truth begins to unravel when CCTV footage reveals Saanvi and her mother framed Ishita and faked the mother's terminal illness to coerce Jay into marriage. Jay, realizing the depth of the deception, confronts Saanvi and her mother, expressing regret for his actions against Ishita. Despite Jay's attempts at reconciliation and claims of forced marriage, Ishita definitively ends their six-year relationship, realizing she suppressed her true self for him. She defiantly attempts to disrupt Jay and Saanvi's wedding, asserting her independence. Later, after being publicly humiliated at her own wedding due to an absent groom, Ishita finds an unexpected partner in Veer Malhotra, choosing him over superficial judgments and defying societal pressures. Jay, now out on bail and obsessed, crashes Ishita and Veer's wedding celebration, warning of a sinister plot and Veer's mysterious past, even claiming Veer was her true love and attempting to sabotage her new happiness. Ishita confronts Veer about these hidden truths, but ultimately rejects Jay's desperate attempts at reconciliation, choosing her hard-won happiness and independence with Veer, despite the looming threats and complexities of their new bond and the potential for a contract marriage.
