The story follows a series of families where marriage, politics, and hidden crimes are used to control younger people. Around him, fathers, astrologers, and powerful relatives pressure daughters into alliances, using grief, blackmail, and threats against mothers to force obedience. Meera’s marriage becomes especially dangerous when she is treated as a tool to obtain a confidential file tied to a transport scheme. She resists that demand, is struck for it, and later receives support from Cheliyan, who turns against the man who hurt her. Another thread follows women and men who cannot trust the people trying to help them, as rescue scenes repeatedly turn into suspicion and fear. In one household, a wounded man believes the woman caring for him may kill him, while in another, a woman enters a room with a knife but insists she came to help. The marriage conflicts deepen when Chezhiyan discovers that the woman he married was hiding her true identity, and the confrontation leads to violence and separation. Cheliyan and Yamini’s bond survives repeated shocks, but it is constantly tested by deception, public humiliation, and rival claims. Political scandal also enters the story, as Chezhiyan Dharmalingam is arrested in a corruption case and learns that his downfall may have been planned from within the family. A woman connected to that downfall admits she entered the family through friendship and gradually took control, turning revenge into a long game.
