Arun and Radhika’s story unfolds as a long, escalating ordeal in which travel, isolation, and unresolved relationship tension keep pushing them into danger. What begins with breakdowns on deserted roads and in forests quickly becomes a pattern of being stranded in abandoned bungalows, remote houses, and ominous mansions with weak signal and no easy escape. Their marriage is repeatedly strained by resentment, teasing, suspicion, and moments where one of them wants distance while the other insists on staying close or protecting the other. Around them, the spaces they enter seem to turn hostile, with strange sounds, doors opening on their own, bloodstains, crashes, and warnings to leave before dark. The threat is not only human but also supernatural, as unseen presences, ghostly women, eerie laughter, and the name of Malathi or Maalthi recur as signs that a restless spirit is closing in. At times, the story briefly shifts into domestic comedy or softer exchanges, but those moments only make the surrounding fear feel sharper. The couple also becomes entangled in other people’s conflicts, including forced marriage, possessive love, and accusations that someone is blocking another person’s path or hiding the truth. Malti’s storyline adds a separate romantic struggle, where she rejects being claimed by Dhooma Koota and chooses Shivu instead, turning a wedding into open conflict. Elsewhere, the past refuses to stay buried, as rumors of a death without marriage, a haunting, and a criminal history deepen the sense that old wrongs are still active in the present. The haunted-house thread grows more intense when a protective woman appears and gives ritual guidance, suggesting that the restless spirit may only be calmed through a specific act. Even when rescue seems near, it often turns into an ambush, a chase, or another trap, leaving Arun and Radhika with no stable ground. Meera and a few others sometimes step in to shield the trapped group, but their protection is temporary and uncertain. The emotional stakes remain tied to whether Arun and Radhika can survive the night without being separated by fear, jealousy, or supernatural force. By the end of the arc, they are still caught between reconciliation and renewed danger, with home itself no longer feeling safe.
