Beggar King
Beggar King
The kingdom of Rudragadha is plunged into a profound succession crisis following the brutal murder of Maharaja Mahendra, who, on his deathbed, had named his younger brother, Veerendra, as his successor. Veerendra mysteriously disappears and is subsequently framed for regicide and treason, forcing him into hiding. Driven by a vow to avenge his elder brother's death and reclaim his rightful throne, Veerendra adopts a disguise as a commoner, navigating a world of intrigue and danger. In his hidden identity, he encounters Princess Devangana, who defies royal tradition and her family to choose him, unknowingly entangling herself in his perilous quest. Their forbidden love leads to their banishment, yet Veerendra emerges as a charismatic leader, inciting a rebellion among the villagers against tyrannical overlords imposing crippling taxes. Simultaneously, Veerendra's elder brother, Mahendra, initially appointed as interim ruler, succumbs to his own ambition, ruthlessly pursuing the throne. Princess Vishaka, Devangana's sister, endures betrayal and humiliation from her husband, Thakur Baldev, and plots his destruction, potentially aligning with Mahendra. As the conflict escalates, Devangana faces brutal trials by fire to clear her husband's name, while Veerendra is framed for the assassination of a previous ruler. The narrative culminates in a tragic fratricide, as Mahendra imprisons their father and murders Veerendra, leaving a loyal warrior to seek vengeance. The kingdom remains in turmoil, with its fate and the true succession hanging precariously in the balance, and a tormented woman central to the unfolding crisis.
