Raja Rani: Secrets of the Beggar King
Raja Rani: Secrets of the Beggar King
The microdrama chronicles the intense, multi-lifetime rivalry between sisters Manimegalai and Tharagai, fueled by jealousy and ambition. Manimegalai, initially betrayed and killed by Tharagai, is reborn to defy societal norms by marrying Dheeran, a humble beggar, rather than a royal suitor. This unconventional union brings scorn and challenges from her family, particularly her father and the taunting Tharagai. However, Dheeran's true identity is dramatically revealed as a hidden king, shattering their simple life and forcing him to confront royal duties. Manimegalai endures public humiliation and family abuse, even undergoing a brutal ritual to sever ties for her loyalty to Dheeran, who begins to assert his royal power. Their marriage sparks a rebellion against Dheeran's Queen Mother, Rajamatha, leading to Dheeran's injury and Manimegalai's protection of him. Manimegalai awakens with amnesia in the palace, facing rigorous tests and opposition from Rajamatha, while Dheeran conceals his identity under orders. A fierce power struggle ignites within the royal court, with Rajamatha's mysterious ascent and Tharagai (also known as Menaka) plotting vengeance. Manimegalai, now a festival organizer, is falsely accused of a forbidden affair with Dheeran, an assassination attempt on Rajamatha, and is ultimately sentenced to death by King Veeran. Tharakan, fiercely defending Manimegalai, exposes a treacherous conspiracy orchestrated by Madhavan, who sought her swift execution. The King, identified as Kochadaiya Ranadheeran, uncovers Tharagai's separate revenge plot against Manimegalai. Dispensing justice, the King dramatically declares Manimegalai his Queen, promising a new era of love and peace.
