Meera emerges as the driving force of a local resistance movement, fighting to protect the basti, its children, and the community center from Devraj Vardhan’s violent power. Kabir first enters this struggle as a proud outsider who is drawn into Meera’s orbit during a street protest, where his arrest and later release make him dependent on her help. To stay hidden, he uses the false name Kabeer Sharma, even as Meera repeatedly defends him against suspicion from Divya and others. Over time, Kabir becomes more than a stranger in the settlement, teaching neighborhood children and quietly supporting the community. His growing attachment to Meera is clear, but so is the danger of his secret, since his family ties place him close to the very power threatening the basti. The conflict widens when a wealthy benefactor appears with a large donation and promises of a school, but the offer is quickly suspected to be a cover for land control. Meera refuses the business group’s terms, and the dispute turns into a battle over dignity, memory, and survival. A major family revelation follows when Meera is shown to be Mr. Dewan’s biological daughter, hidden for years from Devraj’s danger. This truth explains some of the older tensions, but it also deepens the risks around her identity. Devraj’s influence is shown through threats, forged papers, police pressure, eviction notices, and other forms of coercion. Mr. Dewan, despite his own failures, asks Kabir to protect Meera because Devraj could kill her if he learns the truth. Kabir then openly defies both corporate power and his father, choosing Meera and the basti over family loyalty. He also helps drive back attackers when Meera’s land is threatened, proving his commitment in action. Yet his forceful protection unsettles Meera, leaving their bond emotionally complicated rather than secure. By the end of the combined arc, the story centers on a community under siege, a hidden family history, and a love tested by secrecy, betrayal, and the cost of choosing sides.
