Mary, a young woman with modern aspirations, brings her boyfriend, Cooper, to her ancestral Indian village, only to be immediately confronted by unsettling customs and a chilling legend of night weddings and a supernatural massacre. Her grandmother, Dadi, recognizes Mary's lineage and issues a deadly ultimatum: abandon her modern love or face fatal consequences, hinting at unseen entities and a dark family secret. As Mary and Cooper attempt to navigate escalating threats, they find themselves trapped, with Cooper's behavior turning sinister, leading Mary to suspect he might be a doppelganger or an imposter. She is accused of murder, branded with a 'ghost's mark,' and forcibly dragged towards a coercive marriage ritual. Mary discovers her fiancé is an imposter, possibly a supernatural entity (Dev/Shaitan/Gopal), who undergoes horrifying transformations into a headless demon. She witnesses a terrifying forced wedding where the bride is her exact doppelganger, and the village mysteriously vanishes, leaving her invisible and learning of a 'Paani ka Bhoot' and a missing bride. Cooper vanishes after opening a forbidden door, leading to his torture and transformation into a ghost, his existence now tied to Mary's belief and an ancient ritual. Mary desperately searches for him, defying spectral warnings, only to undergo her own transformation into a malevolent 'bhoot dulhan' (ghost bride) during a ritual. Caught between conflicting realities, Mary encounters multiple versions of Cooper—a protector (Kuber), a demonic entity (Shaitan), and the ghost of her beloved. Her grandfather reveals a 'pact with a ghost' and warns her that Cooper is a malevolent spirit aiming to drag her to the underworld. A powerful Pahadi Devta confronts Mary, accusing her of stealing his power and forgetting her true identity as his destined bride. Mary uncovers the horrifying truth of her past as a 'ghost bride' sacrificed years ago, destined for this malevolent, shape-shifting Mountain Deity, who is revealed to be Cooper himself, trapped in a cursed form. Amidst a prophecy demanding her sacrifice and a world built on illusions, Mary prepares for a wedding with Gopal, her amnesiac fiancé, as an unsettling mystery unfolds around the legend of a 'ghost groom' and his enigmatic bride. She must confront ancient curses, profound betrayals, and the heartbreaking fate of the man she loves, with the survival of her village hanging in the balance.
