The story follows a royal succession crisis in Vellefront, where the throne is threatened by a hidden heir whose identity is repeatedly denied, buried, and pursued. Scarlett stands at the center of the conflict as the likely rightful bloodline heir, while Catherine works to control the succession and erase Scarlett’s claim. At the same time, Emily is publicly positioned as the future queen, creating a false front that deepens the kingdom’s confusion. Scarlett is trapped, weakened, and hunted, but she keeps surviving through escapes, concealment, and the help of loyal allies. Toby repeatedly acts as her covert protector, helping her evade palace lockdowns, guards, and execution orders. Lucan challenges the false succession and pushes back against the official story, though his role remains mixed and uncertain. As the pressure rises, Scarlett’s healing abilities and mysterious magical marks begin to surface, suggesting that her claim is tied to more than politics. The palace itself seems to hold buried secrets, with sealed archives, damaged wards, and references to graves and hidden records. Proof of Scarlett’s birth record confirms that she is the legitimate child of the ruling family, making the struggle over her identity even more dangerous. Catherine responds by intensifying the hunt and using armed forces and royal authority to keep the truth suppressed. The conflict also widens into prophecy and dark magic, with a mystical force tied to the Moonwell and royal legacy that may accept or transform an heir. Scarlett is forced into repeated choices between survival and protection, including protecting Toby when Catherine orders his execution. In the later arc, the identity mystery becomes even more unstable as Teresa, Scarlett, and other names are linked together in ways that suggest death, burial, return, or transformation. One version of the story frames Scarlett as someone who died in ice and returned from the frozen lake, still carrying her power. Another thread shows her being rejected by family figures who insist she is not the real daughter, only a face or body that resembles one. Adrian shifts from hunter to protector, repeatedly defying royal orders and eventually siding with the hunted woman against the crown. By the end of the batch, the kingdom remains in crisis, the hunt is still active, and Scarlett’s survival threatens the entire royal order.
